Between The Lines
Architecture, especially commercial architecture such as office blocks, has developed apace post-war and notably from the 1980s onwards. Much of this work is built in steel, concrete and glass, often quite minimal in content and form; stillness being associated in these images with the glass as the space between the lines of steel or corridors of concrete. Some contemporary commercial buildings are art forms in and of themselves, and paradoxically can provide a respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
