About

Michael Isles has been taking photographs since the late 1970s, when he was tutored and mentored by exhibition photographer, Richard Ravensdale FRGS, and subsequently studied photography at a local arts and technology college. He’s currently a professional member of Axis contemporary visual arts network and a member of the Royal Photographic Society.

Minimalism and mindfulness are two descriptors that Michael feels work well with his photography and his work as an education consultant in social work and mental health. Mindfulness can be said to be the conscious awareness of the moment, Michael’s intention being to provide a space for the viewer to become absorbed in. Minimalism is perhaps summed up as an appreciation of simple forms and a recognition that, to quote a well-used adage, “less is more”.

All of the photographs on display on this website and at his exhibitions are signed and printed by Michael, who also mounts and frames each one.

All photographs on this website are for sale as prints on high quality satin or gloss archival photographic paper. Guide prices are as follows:

• Mounted print to fit A4 frame (image size 10x7”), £50.00 plus postage and packing

• Mounted print to fit A3 frame (image size 12x8”), £75.00 plus postage and packing

• A4 framed and mounted print (image size 10x7”), £75.00 plus postage and packing

• A3 framed and mounted print (image size 12x8”), £125 plus postage and packing

• 20x16” framed and mounted print (image size 15x10”), £175 plus postage and packing

All photographs are sold as framed or unframed signed limited editions of 20 in total across all sizes. To make a purchase, please email Michael with the name or number of the photograph, the name of the gallery page, the print size and whether you wish for framed or unframed. All frames are black wood (see the image below).

Michael is available for commissions centred around visual arts photography and architectural and interiors photography. He has also also recently successfully completed a commission to photograph vintage automotive artwork (please see testimonial below) and would be happy to discuss similar commissions. Testimonial
